Love the grain
I’ve shot Delta 3200 with a Pentax 17 with an ND filter, with an MX and a red filter, and a Nikon F without a filter. I ADORE GRAIN. I like the noir effect of grain. Tack sharp is a crashing bore. This film will deliver white whites, black blacks, and grey greys effortlessly @3200 with the lovely texture of grain. Highly recommended.
Response from The Darkroom Photo Lab
Thanks for the great review!! It is truly is a great film and if you haven’t already, you should shoot it in 120 as well – it looks amazing in 120!
Hardly any grain at box speed
I shot my first 120 roll of Delta 3200 and I expected a ton of grain. I developed it with Ilford Ilfotech DD X as per the data sheet and I was shocked at the absence of grain. Way less than Tri-X. 3200 ISO opens so many doors.
Favorite Black and White Film in 120
I shoot HP5 for all of my 35mm black and white needs, but in 120, Delta 3200 has just the right amount of grain and highlight tonality that I’m looking for. I tend to expose for the shadows at 1600 and develop this film at 3200. That’s given me the best results in terms of shadow detail, while still preserving the highlights.
